What is online counseling?
Online counseling presents an alternative to traditional face to face counseling by offering sessions through the internet. Non-traditional methods, such as video conferencing, email, and instant chat, allow clients to participate in sessions while on a work trip, at a hotel room in paradise, or in the comfort of their own homes. At this time, Monarch Professional Counseling only offers video conferencing.
Is online counseling right for me?
Online counseling has both pros and cons. It brings flexibility, anonymity, affordability, and convenience and can benefit people experiencing a variety of life challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationships. However, online counseling is NOT suitable for people experiencing immediate crisis, severe mental health issues and/or suicidal/homicidal tendencies.
What technology is required for online counseling?
