How do I know if you’re the right counselor for me?

This is so important; you must feel comfortable with me and I must feel as if I can be of some benefit to you! A referral source will be provided if, at any point, you or I feel we aren’t the best match.

Is information shared during counseling confidential?

Personal information will NOT be disclosed without your permission. In rare cases, I may be ethically or legally required to break confidentiality. Exceptions to confidentiality are explained further in the Informed Consent form and can be discussed with me at any time.

How long will I need to be in counseling?

Duration and frequency of counseling vary depending on individual needs and goals. People entering counseling with a specific concern may demonstrate improvement within 6-8 weeks; others, however, with more complex needs may benefit from more intensive counseling, lasting months or even years.

What are your rates?

Cost, duration, and frequency of sessions vary based on client need, availability, and type of service.  Methods of payment include cash, check, credit and debit cards, and PayPal. I’d be happy to answer individual questions regarding rates here.

Do you take insurance?

At the moment, I only take Traditional Medicaid. I’m working on contracts with other insurance panels; however, like everything else in life… it’s a process! If I’m an out-of-network provider, a super bill will be provided at the end of the session. You’ll be able to submit the super bill to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Be sure to check with your insurance provider on mental health coverage!

What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

Please cancel or reschedule within 24 hours by calling the office or utilizing the client portal. The spot is reserved for you; therefore, if you fail to do so, preventing others from making an appointment at that given time, you will be responsible for a $25 no-show fee. The third no-show appointment will result in full payment of the service and possible discontinuation of services.
